† Saints

San Alejo
Beggar
Century V
He was the son of a wealthy Roman senator. He was born and spent his youth in Rome. His parents taught him the word and example that helps spread the poor become treasures in heaven and serve to erase sins. So very young Alexius distributed among the needy getting much money, and many other kinds of support, and this brought many blessings from God.
But arriving at twenty realized that life in a very rich family and very worldly society brought him many dangers to his soul, and fled the house, dressed as a beggar and went to Syria.
In Syria he spent 17 years dedicated to the worship and penance, and begged for him and the other very needy. It was so holy that people called him "the man of God." What he wanted was to preach the virtue of poverty and virtue of humility. But suddenly a very spiritual person told the people that this beggar so poor, the son of a rich family, and he fearing that honors paid to him, he fled to Syria and returned to Rome.
He came home to his parents in Rome to ask for a trade, and they did not realize that this beggar was his own son. He spent the lowest drudgery, and so he spent another 17 years sleeping under a ladder, holding on and working and did penance, and offered his humiliations for sinners.
It happened finally got sick and muribundo and sent for his humble hovel, under the stairs, their parents, and told them that he was her son, who had chosen that tremendous penance lifestyle. The two old men crying and hugged him helped him die well.
After death began to get many miracles for those who were entrusted to him. In Rome, he built a temple and the Church of the East, especially in Syria, he had great devotion.
The teaching of the life of St. Alexius is that to get the humility needed humiliations. Pride is a sin very own spiritual souls, and they humiliate us accepting away. Even the people who are most concerned with good works have to fight against pride because if allowed to grow will ruin his holiness. The pride lurks even among the best actions we do, and if we are not alert sterilized our apostolate. A great saint once rebuked a disciple to be very proud, and he told her: "Father, I'm not proud." The saint replied, "That's your worst danger, you are proud, and you realize you are proud."
Life of St. Alexius is for us an invitation to try to get through this land without seeking honors and praises vain, and then will come in each that which Christ promised: "He who humbles himself will be exalted."
Jesus said, "The last shall be first. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 5)

La alegría...

La alegría como signo

Que tu alegría, Jesús brille en nuestros rostros.
Enséñanos a ser alegres como Tú.
Alegres porque tanto nos amó el Padre
que te envió para nuestra salvación.

Alegres porque has venido,
has compartido nuestras penas,

spiritual message

Why the Virgin weeps?

The Virgin cries in many of his images miraculous, because men do not listen to your messages, which invite us to conversion, to change lives, to pray more and do penance. So Mary, who does not want his children, men, we lose forever, shed tears, even blood, to make us understand the gravity of the situation facing humanity.

Watch for orders of our Heavenly Mother, because a mother always seeks the good of the children, and if the mother cries, it is because it has no words to convince, but uses her tears to soften our hardened hearts.

Let us start from today, to pray more, to make more sacrifices, give up small tastes of love for God and Her. Let us start a new life fulfilling the Ten Commandments and confessing frequently. Going to Mass at least every Sunday, for Mary is comfort that we are children bad but we have the willingness to change and start being good.

It is necessary that we are close to the Lord, we get more, we increase our faithfulness to God, pray more and make more sacrifices, because a handful of souls of good will, the Lord forgives many sinners.

Let's help Mary to rescue children from the evil power. And the weapons to be used are other than those used by Jesus: prayer and penance.

Seize the thousand annoyances that we arise every day for the sole reason of trying to meet state our homework, and we will console with that much to the Virgin, who will smile and pour on us and on our own, thank copious river and gifts, and even materials heavenly favors, and be happy since this land, because it is never so happy as when one feels useful to God and neighbor.

Spiritual childhood

Follow the good advice.

A child who wants only for life guide is intended to run many risks, injury, and even loss of life, because children are not made to support themselves, but parents need to grow well and live well.

So we, we were children in the spiritual life, we must follow the good advice given to us by older, starting by our parents, and followed by the superiors, to the same God and the Virgin, because who follows his own will becomes a disciple of a fool.

We must recognize that we need a guide to Heaven, because God wanted us to be men of solidarity with each other, and helping us out on the road.

It is a good Christian to seek advice from wise people. But is that sometimes the Lord will use even the most sinful and deviant to give us good advice. Not so in general, but it can happen. The Lord used a donkey to give advice to a man, as Scripture says, and so we also can give advice to the bottom and among the infidels. And this is for us not to judge nor do we believe any superior to anyone, because God is free, and uses that want to reform our ways and admonition on the road.

Let us heed the apostle we have to hear everything and follow the good, no matter from what source it comes from or who says it as if it is good, then you have to follow.

Excerpt from the Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska,
"Divine Mercy in my soul", with commentary

Source of thanks.
570 Once I saw the Lord Jesus with a clear coat, that was in the greenhouse [209]. Write what you say: My delight is to join you, I very much desire and long for this moment sacramentally dwell in your convent. My spirit rest in that convent, bless especially nearby where will the convent. By love for you will turn away all the punishments that administers justice deservedly My Father. Daughter, I have inclined my heart to your prayers: your homework and effort here on earth is to beg for mercy (40) worldwide. You will not find any justification soul until it turns with trust to My mercy and so the first Sunday after Easter is to be the Feast of Mercy. That day the priests are to speak to the souls of My infinite mercy. I name dispenser of My mercy. Tell the confessor that the image is displayed in the church and the convent within the enclosure. By means of this image will fill the souls with thank you very much, therefore, that every soul have access to it.
Comment:
The Image of Divine Mercy is a source of grace, for those who approach it with faith and trust, receive the Lord's chosen countless thanks, even higher than what you could ever want or imagine. And the mere fact that the Lord promises that those who venerate his image not be defeated by their enemies, they shall become strong at all, and is a big reason to do everything possible to have the image of Merciful Jesus in a privileged of our home and our portfolio.
Let's go with confidence to this image, which is the fountain of mercy, from which Jesus wants to pour over every soul in particular and the world, his infinite Mercy.
The Lord himself tells us that it is necessary to worship the sacred images, without being drawn into Protestant error, which does not accept the images. Let us be careful because God wants venerate the sacred images, and the proof is this image of Merciful Jesus, that He Himself would reveal and give men as the source of grace and mercy.
The vessel with which they are taken because of this image, is the vessel of trust. The greater our trust, the greater the accumulation of thanks we receive. And if we trust beyond measure, beyond measure will also be God's gifts. What do we hope to exploit this treasure that is within our reach? What good is God, that we wanted to give this lifeline and this treasure of your Image blessed!
Jesus, I trust in You.

Catholic living

Thinking about death.
Scripture says: "Think of the late and never will sin", ie, think of the last things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell, and live your life well, doing good deeds and avoiding sin.
And today I want to touch the special theme of death. Because all going to die, and this is a reality that we experience every day, as we learn from the media of accidents and murders, in which die many men, women and children, since death does not respect age or sex or social status. Well, one day we too will experience death.
And if we think of that crucial moment depends our eternal destiny: Heaven or Hell, we find that we are in a severe numbness, we do not want to hear about death, being that it's the safest thing to happen to us in life that one day die.
Many men and women, after the death of relatives or friends, they found a life of penance, prayer and holiness! And we were so relieved to see the death of others, without being aware that we are not properly prepared if we were starting today to eternity.
It's time we start, starting today, to think more about our death and what comes after it, and so will not waste time on such nonsense not seldom sinful, and we've used very well our life, which actually is, or should be, a preparation for death, to give the smooth passage to eternity, that is death.
May God give us the grace to meditate more on our own death, to be smart and make good use of time and property to do good and thus earn a place in heaven with God, where we will be happy forever.
