Fire

A man, who regularly attended the calls
of his parish, without warning stopped participating
in activities.

After a few weeks, the pastor
decided to visit. It was a very cold night.

The priest found the man at home, alone,
sitting in front of the fireplace where burning
Bright and cozy fire.

Guessing the reason for the visit, the man
welcomed the priest led him to a chair,
near the fireplace and stood there ...
He hoped the pastor started talking.

But there was a grave silence. The two men
just watched the flames dance around
of burning wood logs.

After a few minutes, the cleric considered
embers that were formed and carefully
selected one, the more incandescent
all, pushing aside.
He then sat down, remaining
silent and motionless.

The host paid attention to everything,
fascinated and still.

Soon, the lonely flame grilled
decreased, until there was only a gleam
momentary and fire died once.

Soon, what was once a party
heat and light, now there was only a black,
cold, dead lump of coal coated
a thick layer of gray ash.

No word had been spoken since
the handshake protocol between the two friends.

The pastor, before preparing to leave,
manipulated again cold and useless coal,
again placing it in the middle of the fire.

Almost immediately rekindled,
powered by light and heat from coal
burning around him.

When the priest reached the door to leave,
told his host:
- Thank you Father for the visit, and for his words.

I'll be back ...
See you at the Parish!
God bless you, Father!

To all Christians, as members of the Church,
should remind them that they are part of the flame
and away from the community that lost its luster.

And the priests, pastors of the flock,
remind you that are responsible for maintaining
the flame from each of the members
and promote unity among men, that the fire
is really alive, effective and transcendent.
