History

Saint Zita was born in Lucca, Italy, in 1218, to a poor peasant family, but very pious.
From tiny, enough that mom will say, "This pleases God," to which the girl did. And suffice to say, "This does not please the Lord" for it to stop.
At age 12, because of the poverty of the family had to work as a maid in a wealthy family. The advice he gave the mother to say goodbye to her was this: "In your actions and words you think: Does this please God?". It was advice that helped him behave machismo.
The head of the family where Zita went to work, was sent violent temper and screaming and very humiliating words. All employees protesting this treatment so harsh, less Zita who willingly accepted to resemble Jesus Christ was humiliated and outraged.
Other employees were jealous and continually humiliated hurtful words. But Zita never responded to his offenses or grudge or resentment. The workers were annoyed because she showed aversion to profanity and immoral tales. The branded him "besaladrillos" and "Blessed". But over the years, all became aware that it was a true saint, a great friend of God.
It was the most devoted to their trades in all that vast house and repeated that piety which leads one to neglect the duties and offices that must be met, it is true piety.
A man wanted irrespetarla in her chastity, and she scratched his face, and made off. The other was with slander against the owner of the house and this horribly insulted. Zita did not say a single word to defend. Let God take charge of their defense. And then they knew the whole truth and the pattern had to repent so unfair treatment given him grew tremendously and appreciation for this humble servant.
The money from your paycheck was spent almost everything in helping the poor. He slept on a mat on the bare ground because his cot and mattress had given them a much needed family.
One day in winter with several degrees below zero, the lady of the house lent his woolen cloak to go to the temple to hear mass. But at the door of the temple found a shivering poor and left the mantle. Returning home was terribly scolded for giving this material, but later appeared at the door of the house a man mysterious to bring a beautiful woolen cloak. And he would not say who he was. People said: "An angel of the Lord came to visit."
One day wore for the poor in the folds of her apron, all that was left over from lunch, and by the way he met the furious chief of the house, who asked: - What do you got there?. She opened her apron and only appeared there a bunch of flowers.
In times of great scarcity and hunger Zita partitioned between the poorest some sacks of grain that was in the pantry. When it came raging house foreman grade count how many bags were in the barn, the saint began to pray to God that you solve that problem. The man found there every grain sacks. Not missing a single one. And no one could explain how or when the parts were that she had given to the poor.
When he had a day off, I used to visit poor, sick and prisoners, to help those facing death.
He was 48 years of maid, showing that in any trade or profession that is pleasing to God, you can reach great holiness.
He died on April 27, 1278.
So many miracles were wrought through his intercession that Pope Innocent XII declared holy. And his body was preserved incorrupt when it was removed from the grave, over 300 years after his death.
