Salmos...

¡Bendito sea Dios!

St. Luke the EvangelistCentury IThanks Lucas for your beautiful gospel and your book of Acts ofthe Apostles. We often read such beautiful writings.Be merciful as your heavenly Fatheris merciful (Luke 6:36).Lucas means "bright light" (from the Latin "looks" = light).Luke wrote two books very famous: the third Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles. It is a very nice writer, and the one with the most beautiful style in the New Testament. His two little books are read with real pleasure. He was a doctor. St. Paul calls "Luke, the beloved physician," and probably took care of the failing health of the great apostle. Was traveling companion of St. Paul. In the Acts of the Apostles, to narrate the great journeys of the Apostle speaks in the plural, saying "we went to ... navigate to ..." And narrates in detail the events so stunning that happened to St. Paul in his four famous voyages. Luke accompanied St. Paul when he was imprisoned, first two years in Caesarea and then two in Rome. It is the only New Testament writer who is not Israeli. It was Greek. The poet Dante San Lucas gave this name, "which describes the kindness of Christ." And rightly Cardinal Mercier when a student said, "Please advise what is the best book ever written about Jesus Christ," he said, "The best book ever written about Jesus Christ is called: The Gospel San Lucas ". One author called this writing: "The world's most charming book."As a doctor was very understanding. They say a theoretical office, go to the people better than they are. A sociologist sees them worse than they really are. But the doctor sees each one as it is. San Lucas saw people as they are (half and half weakness goodwill) and loved and understood. In his gospel shows great esteem for women. All women who are friendly and there are always Jesus shows great appreciation and true understanding. His gospel is the easiest to read of all four. Is 1,200 lines written in good literary style. He has been called "the gospel of the poor" because there always preferring Jesus appears small, the sick, the poor and repentant sinners. It is a Jesus who runs to meet those for whom life is harder and distressing. It has also been called "the gospel of prayer" because it presents Jesus praying in all the great moments of his life and continually insisting on the need to pray always and not get tired of praying.Another name you have given to your letter is the "gospel of sinners" because Jesus has always infinitely sympathetic to those who have been victims of human passions. Luke wants to insist that God's love has no limits or rejects who wants to repent and change their lives. So sinners read with much pleasure and comfort the gospel of Luke. It was written for them. His gospel is narrating the events of Jesus' childhood, and he has inspired the most famous painters to depict scenes in images so kind. They say he died unmarried, at the age of 84, after having spent his life in doing know and love our Lord Jesus Christ.

St. Ignatius of Antioch
Martyr
Year 107
Ignacio means "full of fire" (Ingeus: fire).
Our holy fire was full of love for God.
Antioch was a famous city in Asia Minor, Syria, north of Jerusalem. In that city (which was the third in the Roman Empire, after Rome and Alexandria) was where the followers of Christ began to be called "Christians." Bishop of that city was San Ignacio, which became famous because when I was led to martyrdom, instead of being afraid, begging friends to help him ask God that the beasts were not to leave without destroying, because he wanted be killed by proclaiming his love for Jesus Christ.
They say he was a disciple of John the Evangelist. For 40 years he was as exemplary bishop of Antioch, after Rome, was the most important city for Christians, because it had the largest number of believers.
Emperor Trajan ordered to put prisoners to all who refused to worship the false gods of the heathen. As Ignacio refused to worship the idols, he was jailed and between the persecutor and the saint the following exchange occurred.
Why do you refuse to worship my gods, evil man?
Do not call me evil. Call me Theophorus Rather, it means that God has within himself.
Why not accept my gods?
Because they are not gods. There is but one God, who made heaven and earth. And his only Son Jesus Christ, whom I serve.
The emperor then ordered that Ignacio was taken to Rome and thrown to the beasts, to the amusement of the people.
Chained was taken prisoner in a boat from Antioch to Rome in a long and excruciating journey, during which the saint wrote seven letters that have become famous. Were addressed to the Churches of Asia Minor.
In one such letter says the soldiers who carried him were fierce as leopards, who treated him like wild animals and the more kindly he treated them with more fury tormented him.
The ship stopped in many ports and in each of those cities went the bishop and all Christians to greet the holy martyr and hear his teachings profitable. Kneeling received all his blessing. Several later went to Rome to join him in his glorious martyrdom.
With those who came forward to go to the capital before he sent a letter to the Roman Christians saying, "Please: I will not ask God to the beasts did not do anything. This would not be good for me but an evil. I want to be devoured, crushed as wheat, by the teeth of beasts to Jesus Christ and show the great love I have. And if when I get there I am filled with fear, I will ignore if I say I do not wanna die. them come over me, fire, cross, stabbed, fractures, bites, tears, and my body is in pieces so he could show my love to the Lord Jesus. " Admirable example!.
Arriving in Rome, came out to greet thousands of Christians. And some of them offered to talk with senior officials of the government for that not martyred. He begged them not to do so and knelt and prayed with them for the Church, for the purpose of persecution and peace in the world. As the next day was the last and busiest day of the festivals and the people wanted to see many martyred in the arena, characters that are especially important, was taken without the circus to throw him to the wolves. The year was 107.
Given the immense crowd was presented at the amphitheater. He prayed to God and then released two lions were hungry and fierce it tore and devoured, among the applause of the crowd ignorant and cruel. So what Ignacio got both wanted: to be martyred for proclaiming his love for Jesus Christ.
Some ancient writers say that Ignatius was the child that Jesus placed in through the apostles to tell them: "Those who do not do as a child can not enter the kingdom of heaven" (Mark 9:36).
St. Ignatius says in his letters that Mary was ever virgin. He is the first to call Catholic, Church of Christ (Catholic means universal).

Cartas de San Pablo...

Cartas de San Pablo.

Cabellera.

A priest to know...

A priest to know

Father Ignacio Peries, reminiscent of Padre Pio

Those who love to Padre Pio in life always want to find a priest who at least looks like the Holy of Gargano. In this testimony we find references to Father Ignatius, of Rosario, Argentina, and much of what is seen through these words remind us Pio. We are confident that in many other places also flourish other samples the love of God, priests full of vital spirituality, filled with the Holy Spirit, whom God by strange design covers with special thanks.
Father Ignacio Eucharistic surprised by his love, by the love with which consecrates the bread and wine. But also for the gift of intercession that the Lord gives, that makes souls are spiritual and physical healing in front of his blessing and gift of prophecy about the problems afflicting their souls. Father Emiliano Tardif, through which Jesus healed thousands of people used to say that it is not surprising that Jesus granted the gift of healing in these times, when most of the Gospels is stories of healings of the sick and demon-possessed. Jesus sent His apostles and disciples to heal, and now he does it again, it always has through the centuries.

The obvious question is, why Jesus gives these Thanks to Father Ignacio and not others? The answer is only God who decides at some point "decorate" with these talents to one of his ministers. But I suspect it is because Jesus knows that we are weak, we need these wonders from time to time, to revitalize our faith volatile.

the Phaters of the Church

The Fathers of the Church enlighten us

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich and increases the glory of his house (Ps 48.17). Choose this verse as a treasure, put it as the foundation of your home, your life. Because wealth is not rich, but not wanting to get rich. Do you understand what I mean? Whoever wants to get rich needs to accumulate goods and money, while those who do not want to get rich always lives in opulence. (...)

Speaking and pretend not to speak, as I have said over and over again, slandering wealth but warn that misuse the good stuff. Riches adorned with good works, are good. So, how to become good? If riches come with remedias poverty, relief to poor and indigent. Let's hear what Job says of himself: I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame (Jb 29.15-16) Here a wealth itself contains no sin. But love for the poor: I opened my door to every passerby (Jb 31,32).See, this wealth is put at the service of wealth! (...) What I mean wealth? A wealth of virtue, wealth of almsgiving. There are rich that rob the other, as there are rich people who shared his own among the needy. One is enriched accumulating, the other dealing. One seed in the ground, the other cultivated the sky. One we love the crowds, the other accused the world. The truth that there is something that you should not be surprised: the greedy miser and not just those with hate his stinginess, but also those who did not suffer, the merciful, however, not only love that he were favored, but also everyone else.
